The design is based on the principal idea of creating a very clear and simple square with an existing historic fountain ensemble in the center.
An independent urban square as a large sculptural form gets in dialogue with the surrounding buildings. The new urban square becomes a recognizable landmark, a place of communication and relaxation, which also offers space for temporary events.
The play of light and shadow of different tree densities creates a special atmosphere with diverse views to the green center of the square accessible from all sides.
The square design and positioning of street furniture and gastronomic areas in the sense of a recreational space should invite visitors and represent more than just a stopover on the way from the main station to the city centre.
